On September 1, 2011, Harmony on the Hill announced a scholarship process for scholarships up to $500 for any qualified Mission Hill resident. The application deadline was October 1, 2011. Scholarships will be awarded to selected recipients on November 19th, 2011.

The criteria included Mission Hill residents attending any form of post-high school education or training.

The original Mission Hill in Harmony concert in 1990 was part of a community-wide strategy to promote healing and good will in the aftermath of the Stuart Case, in which a pregnant white woman was murdered on Mission Hill, and an African-American man was falsely accused of her murder.

Last year, the Harmony on the Hill Community Initiative conducted a year-long program of workshops, trainings and events the purpose of which was to promote racial harmony and to celebrate the diversity of the Mission Hill community. The program culminated with a 20th Anniversary Concert on October 16, 2010, featuring both well-known and local artists, including Frank Wilkins & We Jazz Up, with special guests Stan Strickland and Gabrielle Goodman; the Boston College Voices of Imani Student Choir, and a dramatic presentation by Citi Performing Arts Center titled “Mission Hill: The Good, The Bad, The Possible.”
